EAPPI-US is supported by: Eappi International Map Over the years, 1,800 ecumenical accompaniers (EAs) have worked to create conditions for a just peace. Today we have 22 active countries responsible for recruiting & training EAs and coordinating advocacy in their own country. Volunteers—also known as Ecumenical Accompaniers, or EAs—will stay in one of seven locations (Jerusalem, Bethlehem, Jericho, Hebron, South Hebron Hills, Yanoun, or Tulkarem), living in a house with three or four other EAs. You will have some input on where you are stationed, but the final decision is made by Jerusalem staff. The Ecumenical Accompaniment Programme in Palestine and Israel (EAPPI) was founded in 2002 by the Geneva-based World Council of Churches (WCC) and is considered to be the WCC’s “ flagship project ” on the Arab-Israeli conflict.

EAPPI recruits ordinary people from the UK and Ireland to live alongside communities working non-violently against the military occupation. EAs range in age from 25 to 70 years old and are from many different backgrounds, but what they all share is a deep dedication to human rights.
